CD Changer wiring question

CD Changer wiring question
I just got my CD changer ($52 including shipping from E-bay) and am trying to work out a couple of the connections. It has the main changer unit, which is connected by a big DIN cable to a "control unit" which the remote control and the power and antenna plug into. OH yeah, it's an FM modulated one.
My question is abotu the power leads - one is labelled red, and labelled "+12V to ignition", and runs through a 0.5A fuse. The other is pink, runs through a 5A fuse, and is labelled "GROUND BACK UP" and also has a black wire coming from the same little hole.
My guess is that the red one goes to the ignition switch (I was goign to tap it off the amped speaker power so it is controlled by the HU rather than the ignition), and the pink one actually powers the unit. Anyone else had experience with a similar setup ?
Also, the antenna connector is very different from the ones in the car. The ones in the car are screw on or push on connectors that are less than 1/2 inch long and look like standard co-ax jacks. The one provided is over an inch long with a 1/2 inch probe abotu 1/16" diamter, and a larger section about 3/4" long and 5/16" in diameter. Again, anyone seen this type fo connector before ?
Thanks,
Mike.
