Default CHECK ENGINE LIGHT Success Story

Well it took me several weeks, but in the end, the solution was FREE....hope this can help somebody:

SYmptoms:
check engine light is on(duh)
engine often conks when cold
NO power above 4000rpm
stumbles when coming off a stop light and when down-shifting
Temp guage is funky

Tried Replaceing multi-function temp sensor but that did not do a damn thing (even for the temp guage).

So then, with cryptic and sketchy advice (*******!) from you guys, I found www.12v.org and learned how to pull fault codes - took less than 10 minutes total.

Code:2324
Problem Area: MAFS
Actual Fault: blown fuse; 10 amp left-hand engine fuse (#27). Replaced with spare.

Result: Every problem cured. (temp gauge is still stoopid)

Hope this helps!

PS: I wish I'd known this when I had to drive through Montana and race a new Jag and Chevy Suburban who beat me when I ran out of breath above 4000rpm. DRAT!

Default what did you use to pull the codes?
