Default Chip and laptop?

is it possible to hook a laptop up to a 20v non turbo, and make it faster by messing with the ratios at all?

just a thought

not that i know of...that, and chip tuning is not for the weak hearted, nor inexperienced. it takes a lot of trial/error to get it right.

to chip tune on the fly, you'd have to have an edit program, and some sort of plug in harness to go between the diag port on the ECU and the RS232 port on the laptop. no one makes one that i know of. get a motec, and you can do that. in fact, if you can get the factory ECU program, you could use it as a starting point for your tuning.

Yes you can do the mods, however, this is best left to someone familiar with Motronic ECU's. There are several sites on the web with diagrams and software to do this. I don't have one handy. Do a search on Audi Quattro, and browse for diagnostics. I think the most used site is Adam's.
You can if you feel adventuous connect up, and if nothing else "look" at he many variable settings. I have dl'd the software, and played with it, it is quite powerful, but dangerous. I have 2 ECU's in my car for different perfomance. I am going to be noting the settings in case I ever need to replace one. Both ECU's were set up by AudiSport for different performance, and probably couldn't be duplicated again.
