Cigarette lighter sometimes working
Hello all,
I have gotten many of the electric kinks worked out in my vehicle but one in particular still haunts me. Of the three Audis I have owned, all of them have had this problem.
It is a 1995 Audi 90 Quattro Sport.
When I bought it the cig lighter worked sometimes, if the ashtray was open halfway or so and would work at different points of “ashtray openness” but never when it was fully open. The little light which illuminated it did work though.
I decided to take it out and look at the socket and wires leading into it. The wires had a couple spots that were exposed so I electrical taped them and went to put it back in. Unfortunately, there was little tugging involved as there was not a lot of room to work.
Now neither work. (the fuse is fine)
I’m not sure how to get the climate control stuff out to take a look and really wan the cigarette lighter to work so I can plug in my MP3 player and GPS and other stuff.
Anyone have any ideas.
