Default Click click - need help

94 90S automatic (save the preaching for another day).
yesterday - fine
today - go to start car - click, click, click... classic dead battery. fun part was that I couldn't move the shifter out of park. I rocked the car a bit and I could then move the shift lever out of park.

No change - click click... After one or two tries of the solonid not energizing, the power antenna would cycle up and down as if the power was reset and the doors would lock.

The headlights work with no apparent loss of light output, as does everything else - except the starter.

I check battery fluid levels - what battery fluid??? I refilled with distilled water.

Still no dice in park or neutral.

NOW, I don't have access to either jumper cables or voltmeter - yet.

Any thoughts? I have to buy jumpers or call triple A. But if its the battery that's shot, I'll just get another, but before I do, I want to hear opinions.

Mucho grassy ***.

Default You could see if your neighbors have jumper cables...

Then have the battery checked out for free at Auto-Zone, Advance Auto, or somewhere else.

Default Do you know how to bypass the solenoid on the starter? ;O)

Whats involved is potentially dangerious and involves a large flat blade screw driver?

Ever heard of it? ;O)

Default Can still be the battery - voltage and amps may be enough to run the rest of the cars electricals

but not enough for the starter and solenoid
