clicking noise when i downshift hard....

let's say i'm in 4th at around 3000rpms.....then i downshift to 3rd without giving any gas..i am downshifting somewhat hard....
as soon as the car gets in gear, i hear some light clicking/ticking noises (only for a split second or two).....
is this normal? maybe i just never heard it....

Ya may want to goose the gas a bit upon shifting... You'll put excessive wear on the syncromesh, or other parts, if you continue doing as you are right now. You ever drive a car without syncros? Not much fun, but you get really good at rev matching, double clutching, etc.
