I've got a '93 90CS (135k mi)that the auto tranny slips in the morning after the car sits for more than 10-12 hours. It takes about 3 or 4 seconds for the gear to "catch", then the car shifts normally. My mechanic said that maybe the torque converter is draining and it takes a bit to build pressure, then the tranny shifts properly. Any fixes for this or is a new tranny in order? If so, what kind of costs am I looking at? Thanks.

One source looks about $1350 + remove and replace and ship old trans for core charge.
