could someone please check my logic here...

I think this makes sense, but would like confirmation from you experts to put my mind at ease.
My oil pressure light has been on continuously. So, with the car off, I:
1. Disconnected low pressure switch.
2. Check continuity to ground, switch was closed.
3. Check continuity of connector to ground, and there was a short.
4. Disconnected wire harness connector near the rear of the drivers side head.
5. Checked contiuity of corresponding pin of connector on switch side, and it was open.
6. Checked continuity of corresponding pin of connector on indicator side, and there was a short.
7. Checked continuity of switch with car off, it was closed.
8. Started car, and switch opened.
9. Turned off car, and after 10 seconds or so, switch closed.
So... if it is true that the switch is normally closed, am I correct in being confident that my oil pressure is fine and the switch is funtioning properly? And, the source of the light being on is a short somwhere "upstream" from the connector near the head?
TIA

That tells you nothing. That's what it's supposed to do....
When testing the sensor with the car off you should get less than 1 OHM. With the car started it should go to infinity.
Check the pressure with a gauge unless the codes point to something else (which they probably won't).

Why does it tell me nothing?
I did get less than one ohm which the car off, and the switch opened when I started the car.
But that was with the switch disconnected because there is a short to ground in the wiring. When I disconnect the switch and measure the resistance of the wire to ground it is close to zero, the switch can't be read properly with a short in the wiring...
Wait... I see what you mean... I left out an important point... messing with the connector near the head "fixed" (temporarily...I didn't find it) the short in the wiring and the oil light is now off.
