Default I asked on those chat rooms you showed me but don't get an answer...

it's mostly people asking questions, so now I need an evap AND a compressor.

well the clutch could of failed if you were short cycling, you should check and see if there is still adequate charge of freon before anything else. you might want to consider the cryochem at this point if it is leaking out that fast.

the clutch is operated with an electromagnet, if the windings get too hot from overuse they will fail. you can check the clutch by applying 12v to the clutch through the wire running to the compressor.

i would do this with the car off.

HTH!

Default probably, unless the controller failed in some way. but,

it could be just so low of a pressure in the system from the leak that the compressor won't kick on because of the low pressure switch.
well, i am sorry about your ongoing endeavor but that's part of owning an audi sometimes.

Default Do you think he could have done it deliberately? He is an ASE mechanic and owns two.....

repair shops, both of them AAA recommended. Do you think he is getting revenge for me complaining about the other shop? He knew it was the compressor switch and he was in the FIVE minutes messing with the switches!

Default no telling, the question of why comes to mind,

whay are you still taking your car to shops that aren't familiar with audi's?

Default one more thing.

a lot of times the leaks will not leak as bad until you are actuaslly running the a/c the pressures don't get very high while the car is off, but when you turn the a/c on those pressures rise rapidly and the more you use it with a leak the faster it's going to leak out.

sorry about your luck but i would check the compressor clutch by applying 12volts before doing anything else.
