Default couple of exhaust manifold questions

('94 90S Head Gasket Job)

I have both heads off and the 3 exhaust flange studs are in pretty rough shape on both sides. It looks like there are no threads left where the nuts used to be. How should I handle this?

1. Do the studs thread out of the manifold and can be replaced?

2. Should I drill them out and replace with tapped holes?

3. If the nuts thread back on, should I just reassemble it as is?

Thanks for any help!!

Default The studs can and should be replaced.

They unscrew from the manifold, but you will need to heat the manifold up cherry red to get them to budge. If you don't have a torch, take it to a shop and have them changed. You will not need to remove the manifold from the head to do this. Buy new studs from the dealer.

Is it a right-handed thread into the manifold?
