When it weighs less!! Anyway, goal is to get it at/under 3000lbs for track/auto-x duty with me in the drivers seat, and at least a half tank of gas (chipped MC engine, 230hp?). Now that I have the '87 5kq back as a daily driver (well, gotta change trans brackets first and make sure there isn't anything else wrong with it post-accident), I may drop the AC system off the CQ, which will GREATLY help the weight issue. I'd also like to switch to manual (crank) windows, and see what I can do about switching the sun roof to manual as well (maybe pull the motor off the roof gear box and use the allen-crank-tool?).
Now, at some point, it will have no sound deadening stuff in it, no carpet, no back seat, no head liner (that may be sooner than later as the headliner material is starting to fall down a bit behind the visors).

Yea baby!
Hack away, with some serious dieting you can get it down maybe close to 2500-2700lbs.
Mine is 1130kg(2409lbs), but that would mean some major surgery, but you can do it.
You'll be amazed at how different it will feel and drive.
Go for it!

Now that I can drive the '87, I probably will just delete the CQ's AC (only thing wrong with it is a leaky o-ring on the compressor manifold, otherwise its all new stuff) and be able to keep the 110A alternator and wiring, vs having to use the 10vt's 90A unit, and possibly running new alt. wiring to reach the other side of the engine bay.
I'm actually not sure now that the AC system would fit anyway due to the length of the compressor (the urq uses a very short but wide compressor to get it to fit). I think it would hit the bottom corner of the condensor and radiator. Plus, having to fab new lines could be expensive. Something I'm trying to avoid...

Getting the 10vt in, getting an engagement ring, finishing school, etc...
besides, the '87 and the '99 Cav. both have working AC.
