Default CQ coolant temperature sender question.

I installed newer (3pin) generation coolant temp. sender on my CQ to address false AutoCheck overheating alarms and non-responsive temp gauge today. AutoCheck is no longer flipping out every 5 minutes, but the gauge is still barely moving. What is the problem?

Default Did you let the car idle inplace, parked, until the rad fans came on?

Hate to break this to everyone, but (Sam Kennison voice) "its Winter outside!" ;O)

There's always a rash of temp gauge questions around the begininning of winter...

Outside air temps play a major role in temp gauge
diagnosis...

sure it does, too cold means you wont go into closed loop and O2 sensor is worthless

Default Re: CQ coolant temperature sender question.

Maybe you've glued your bra to the front of the car and the sloppy adhesive job isn't allowing any cooling air through the grille. Just a thought. The one you sold me seemed to have that problem.
