Default CQ front wheel bearing - circlip confusion

Hi guys. I'm replacing a front wheel bearing on my 90 CQ. I have
removed the spindle and pressed out the hub (and separated the stuck
inner race from the hub). I'm looking at the the spindle, and I can't
see a circlip (hub/outer side). There is an unbroken 'ring' that sits where
the circlip should be. I have scraped this area pretty well, and the
ring doesn't appear to be a circlip. The Bentley shows a circlip. I'm stumped...

Thanks for any input.

Later,

Mark.

Update: got the bearing out. There was no circlip installed. After pressing out the outer race there doesn't appear to be a slot for a circlip. Anyone know if there are two versions of the front spindle (CQ) - one with, and one without a circlip?

Thanks,

Mark.

It is in the bentley manual, because early 80/90 model cars came with the circlips. You didn't have one, don't worry about it. Press in new bearing and go.
