CQ: Instrument cluster- what's the 4th stalk (on the right) used for?
There are 4 stalks on the instrument cluster.
From left to right:
1. computer display/info check (?)
2. digital clock adjustment (?)
3. trip odometer reset
4. ?
Please correct me if I'm wrong- I can't seem to find it in the owner's manual.
And can someone confirm that all the stalks should be raised away from the clear plastic shield at the same height? My 4th stalk is broken (I think) because it is almost flush with the clear plastic cover. Is this used to reset a Service light? Is there some way for me to pull the stalk back out of the instrument cluster or would I need to purchase a new cluster all together? Thanks again!

Re: Its normal for it to be flush and as someone said i believe its for fine tuning fuel guage
Yeah, that's a pic of what my 4th stalk looks like... I thought it was only me! So does the Bentley manual say what it's used for? Thanks for posting a pic of it 91ToyoCelicaGts!

Fine Tuning the Fuel Gauge. Pull off the cover. Turn the recessed stalk (hex).
Mess up your fuel gauge readings. It's easy!
Seriously, unless you are unhappy with your gas gauge, don't mess with it.
