CV Boot

Re: CV Boot
My normal supplier is out, so I went with Clair Parts Express. www.clairparts.com
Something like $25 for the CV boot kit. From Audi thats good!
You need to remove the axle, and possibly the outer CV. Depending on which CV boot your fixing.
I'm guessing the outer, as they go sooner than the inners. The outer CV requires a M16 bolt about 4 inches long to remove the outer CV. Or the special tool from Zelinda.
The axle bolt is in there good! About 250 ft pounds worth! Best to remove with the wheels on the ground, first.

Did this yesterday
No Special Tools- remove the main bolt connecting the outer CV to the wheel hub- unbolt the two control arm bushings to give you some room to get the end of the CV out of the hub then run the main bolt back into the CV shaft to separate or PUSH the CV off from the axel- clean it up- put the new boot on and drive the CV back on the axel- bolt it all back up and your good to go
