dash lights again...questions?

dash lights again...questions?
A few days ago all my dash lights suddenly went out after restarting my car. I have checked all the fuses. Pulled the cluster and all the bulbs are good. Even swapped in a new dimmer switch a voltage regulator on the back of the cluster. Still the lights do not work.
I am not really sure where to look now. Anyone have any ideas? Could a faulty ignition switch cause this? How can I tell if the ignition switch is bad?
Are there any relays or other fuses other than in the fuse box that could be blown?
I have read a bit about the voltage regulator on the alternator. What does this look like and how can I tell if it is bad?
Or is there anything else that could be causing this?
Any help would be great now, because I'm running out of ideas.

Ignition switch...maybe...
When the plastic piece of my ignition switch broke, alot of electrical things in the car seemed to stop working (turn signals, dash lights, headlights, fan, etc..) Does everything else in your car work when the dash lights are out? Try giggling the key around when the car is on. (When I giggled my key, things would start to work again)
