Everything is great, the A/C now works perfectly.
It seems the shop that did some engine work hooked up the A/C switch wrong. It cost me $60 at a great little shop that does only "exotic" imports to find and fix the problem.
The dealer had lied and said the evaporator was leaking, which it is not, and charged me $210 to "diagnose" the problem.
Since the shop that did the engine work and hooked up the switch wrong is a AAA guaranteed shop, AAA should re-imburse me the $210 and the $60 I spent tracking down and fixing the problem.

well, thats some good news...don't see how your evap. unit is THAT expensive, even with labor. i had a new dryer (evap.), "new" condensor, and the system topped with R12 for less than $2000 including labor.
