Default The deed is done!

Finally after over a year, the Coupe now has a windshield, actually installed too.

I was trying to take it out myself today, and was getting pretty frustrated, so I started calling around to find someone to do it for me. I got a lot of cold shoulders or prices that were out of this world. Either that or they just didn't want to do it onsite. I did find one guy willing to do it, but he was booked for the next few days.

I decided to drive around town to see if there were any local shops that might be interested in making a few quick bucks. I happened upon a collision shop, and figured I'd see if they could do it, or knew someone that would. As I pulled in the driveway there was a guy in an autoglass truck just pulling out. I stopped him and asked him if he wanted to do it, and he said sure. He quoted me $60, and said he would do it in about an hour and a half after he finished another job. Great!

He showed up exactly on time, and within about 30 minutes he was done and it was lookin good. He even provided new weatherstripping no charge. We chatted for awhile, and I explained what I do with the cars, and told me about his business.

In the end he only charged me $45, which included the glue and the weatherstripping. I ended up giving him some extra cash just because I was so happy to get it done.

So it's done, ready to go! And I have a spare windshield too, just in case...

Default nice, does the seal at the top of the windshield look goofy?

the windshield on my cq was replaced right before i bought it and the guy used a genaric seal that never fit righ and always looked wavy. It never leaked, just looked bad.

Default It looks good.

He used Sika seal, Pinch and Go.

It was a hair narrower than OEM, but the wider one he had was way too wide.

Just a sliver of primer shows along the edge, which I can touch up at some point. he did have to slide the window fairly high up in the opening though.

I haven't put the trim back on yet, I wanted it to be very dry and set before I monkeyed with it.
