now i have the hood lined up the best i can get it. the catch springs are installed now. when the hood is closed the passenger side locks down and has no movement at the front corner by the headlight and fender. but on the driver side the catch spring locks down but there is movement (up and down movement) at the corner by the headlight and fender. why do i have this movement? my buddy and i adjusted the catch spring almost all the way out and all the wat in and still have that movement. btw the headlights arent installed yet.

the spring should be adjusted so that when it engages, the hood is pressed against the bumpers on both sides, this should stop any movement.

my guess is you still have not adjusted the spring latches right. And to lessen the space between hood and body, the springs must be more compressed. If that isn't working than the hood is not aligned up & down/side too side. Or the center latch is not centered in correctly.
