Default Digital Climate Control interchangeability?

Hello

I got a 1995 90Q and the Digital Climate control is going crazy. I was told the outputs are bad.. I'm guessing that's probably the main board? The part number for the one in the car is 8a0 820 043 f. I called a dealer and was told the one for the car is a variant of the part number above but end in g (8a0 820 043 g). I've seen others on ebay that end in 'e' or 'd'. I'm wondering if anyone knows if they are all interchageable. Although the "Hella" part numbers are the same the 5hb 006 500-01.

hmm, anyone able to shed some light?

I would guess that any UrS car and A6 of the same style all are the same. Maybe even the early A4s.. You can go to a junk yard and just give one a try...

Default You'll probably need to recode the head unit based on what car it's in...

...easily done with VAG-COM.

Default That is not correct.

All the control modules look the same and plug right in but they are different and cannot be "recoded". Look at the sticker on the unit: it has the chassis code on it. C4 units do not work. You need something from a 1993 90 to a 1996 A4 B chassis only. If you want the illumination to match, 1995 90 and 1996 A4 are your only choices.

Default Um? I've done it before...the 'soft coding' different code for different...

...engines/compressors, etc...outlined in the Bentleys.

Default And lastly this summer I did swap an ACC head unit from a '96 A6q into a '94 90CS...

...and it worked just as it should.
