1989 90Quattro

I attempted to replace the distributor rotor on my 1989 Audi 90 Quattro but the rotor i was given by parts store is too big for the shaft, this has happened at two different parts stores. Any idea why this is happening and if there are any specs on the size of this distributor rotor? Thanks.

I ran into the same problem. I bought my rotor at autozone and they didnt have the right part for the rotor. I think that they had to use the 4 banger one.

There used to be a larger diameter distributor shaft, but that was around the 1986 model year. I had one in a '86 5ktq, but the '87 had the smaller shaft. Something like 10mm and 15mm I think...

Could order one off autohausaz, from what I understand they check your vin when you order parts to make sure you get the right part (shrug)
