do i need a hub puller to press the halfshaft out of the hub?

No. You just need an axle bolt.
That's to get the CV off the shaft, is that what you mean? The CV/axle assembly will pull out of the hub by hand once the ball joint is disconnected.<ul><li><a href="http://www.20v.org/drvshaft.htm">Step 10</a></li></ul>

no i meant the halfshaft from the hub, that covers it..thanks.
i know some cars u need a hub puller to get them apart...couldnt recall if i needed one for the 90.

Rust is a headache
We just did two that were stuck.
If you can get it up on a lift you can generally work them out, but on stands on the ground it's a lot harder.
Sometimes they're fine and sometimes not. When you're in a hurry is when they usually give you a problem.
