Mine's ported! So are my heads, throttlebody and exhaust manifolds.
Installing a ported intake all by itself will probably yield nothing.(93-95 90) Ya need to consider all items in the intake/exhaust system.
On my 93 90, the first item to consider "restrictive" to intake air flow, is the factory airbox with filter. Changing over to the cone filter setup, proves the factory airbox is restrictive, because of the performance gains. Next the throttlebody. A bored out throttlebody also proves its restrictive, because you gain from the mod. The intake runners, can be enlargened, and smoothed to aid air getting into the engine. Once you've done the
filter, throttlebody, and intake runners, your heads are still stock! You gains will be smaller
with each component you leave stock, in compairson to an intake system which has tweeked
fully to allow the mods to function fully! Once you've completed the intake system, you need to open up the exhaust system to allow the air a better way to get out of the engine too! Then your fueling system needs consideration too.
Of course all this varies greatly between makes & models of engines. No 2 are alike!
