First of all, I installed the DIY shortshift kit about 2 years ago (the $34 kit using the scirocco unit and instructions from the internet). It worked great until now. The shifting feels very loose and clunky. When the car is in gear, you can move the shifter from left to right quite a far ways. I took the shift cover off expecting to find somthing broken with the shifter ball/housing, but it was fine. It got me wonderin if something may be wrong with the transmission. Has this happened to anyone else?
