Default DRAT! Don't think VW 16v cams will work in teh V8

Started stripping down to do the timing belt and it looks like the cam drive is different. Won;t know for sure until I can get the DAMN valve cover off. Also found several shagged parts up front like the main crank pulley (aluminum) and two of the timing cover shells.

Can;t get the freekin viscous fan pulley off and can't get the crank pulley off.
Why am I doing this? I am insane.

Default Why are you even screwing with it? Just drop the damn thing in!

You're more worried about what you're going to do with the engine out than putting it in the car. You're going to blow everything up the moment you touch the gas, so get a move on so all of us can see it.

Default the engine needs some work before it goes in.....expen$ive work

A serpentine belt roller is 86$ wholsale and I need two. the timing belt with rollers water pump are $400+. The cracked timing cover is $150. Many parts are not in stock and on and on...can;t just drop it in. Of course I will accept donations to speed up the process. I ain't gonna touch the savings account to do it. Hell no.

Default cams are just for future excessiveness. ...after it's installed.

Just needed something else to bitch about after shattering my knuckles and bleeding all over that giant aluminum doorstop all day.

Default Last time I checked, the 32v engines only shared some of the valve train of a 16v VW.

Just like the intake valves and maybe valve springs.
