Default driver door doesnt shut correct

my drivers door hangs down alittle to which when it hits the door pin i need to pull up a bit. I know the doors are heavy and its never been in a accident, can the door pins of bent alittle from age and weight?
does anybody else have this problem with the b4?
strange enough my 88 has heavy doors of course also, 6 yrs older and the door shuts perfectly.

Default Perhaps your door needs a bra for some extra support? ;ož

Some doors sag faster than others, no rhyme or reason. Check the Bentley for the procedure to adjust the doors.

Default

you might need to only realign and tighten the bolts of the hinge

Default lol yeah i have checked it out actually

i can tell it has never been tinkered with since the bolts are still painted and other signs its all original.I tried to adjust the pin but all that did was make it worse. if somebody held the door and you took a drift and r/r the pins that would do the trick, not the fun part, where to get pins.

You're talking about the lock pin that goes into the door lock? The pin in the hinges?

Default pin in the hinges, I believe they are slightly bent

so many years of opening and shutting the door and weight, i think they are slightly relaxed thus the door hangs down just a few mm and when it door hatch hits the huge pin it hits hard and then raises up a bit. when i shut my door i pull it up alittle when i shut it so it doesnt slam the pin as hard.
anycase, chances of finding the hinge pins?

Default From the looks of ETKA, the hinge assembly is one piece...

...for both the upper and lower hinge. Maybe you could pull one of a junker (same piece on a B3 & B4), and swap the pins? Or just paint another hinge to match your car?

Part number for the upper front hinge is 893-831-401

Part number for the lower front hinge is 893-831-411

Default I have a problem with the driver door hitting the B-pillar....

when it's shut. When I open the door I have to also pull it a little since it's so tight against the B pillar. My rear passenger door was hit by another car while it was open a few years ago and it was bent down from the hinges I guess. My friend bent the door up with a 2 X 4 and the rear door has an extra 1/4" gap between it and the body while the front and rear doors are VERY close. I think my B-pillar actually got pushed forward. When I lubricate the B-pillar it opens and closes fine but the lube ruins the weather seal on the door. I got $1300 from the ladys insurance company but didn't feel it was bad enough to fix. Her front fender was ruined while my car had no signs of visible damage. I just had a hard time shutting the door. I haven't tried adjusting the door since I can clearly see the position of the rear door is whats causing the rubbing.

Default Well my '93 never sagged, and they looked original...as are the ones on my '95...

...maybe at some point someone or something put some downforce on your door while it was open and caused the pins to bend?

Especially if you're '88 is okay...who knows?
