Default Electonic control unit v.s. Engine control unit

I know where to locate the Engine control unit (side passenger, foot well), but I cannot locate the electronic control unit...I'm not even sure if there is another unit. I have heard from others that there are two.

I have a 1988 audi 90 quattro...thanks in advance

Default Not sure if this is going to help but...

On the Coupe, the ECU is behind the heater core box in the passenger footwell (as you mentioned). The coupe also has what I guess you could call an engine control pack under the hood next to the main fuse box. I think it actually controls the injectors. HTH

call the "box" the ECU - Engine Control Unit, The Bentley manual calls it the Electronic Control Unit. Maybe you are referring to one in the same thing?
