Default engine bay fires!!

I was checking out Force5auto.com and noticed that they had a few 90's and 100's in their yard due to engine bay fires. What's causing these cars to burn??

This is alarming to me because Ive recently had a RAW-GAS smell coming from the engine bay on my 1993 90. At first I thought I was just imagining the smell but it's come back a few times now and my girlfriend now says she smells it too (she's got one of those super girly noses).

I know some 90's had a fuel injector recall, but I checked with the dealer and they told me that my car was not part of that recall.

Help!! I don't want my 90 to be another statistic!

Default Have dealer check again.

I have a 93 90CS Quattro, and I've had the recall done for the injectors/rail. Make sure the dealer knows what they're talking about. HTH.

I double checked with the dealer and it looks as though the injector recall was done on my car back in 1995. So why am I smelling raw gas? Could there be another problem? And why am I seeing Audi 90's in junk yards because of engine bay fires? Any ideas?

Check all of the fuel lines and fittings and where the injectors go into the fuel rail.

Question: if the car was a private sale, can you take to a dealer anyways?
