Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor...G62 question?

Yesterday my Coolant Gauge stopped working and my check engine light came on. I check the computers diagnostic codes and it flashed me 2312...which is my engine coolant senor.

Where is it located on my 1995 Audi 90 V6 2.8L 5speed AFC motor. I would like to purchase the sensor and change it myself...any suggestions would be MUCH appreciated.

This may help. There are two coolant sensors. The one for the gauge is F76. Go to 12v.org look at component locations and engine cooling system diagram for an overview. There are some tests you can run but for this, and if the switch doesn't fix it, write back and someone will help out. It starts to get more involved with testing the gauge, etc.

oh oh there are two sensors?? well well I guess I should start with the switch then F76 since is is cheaper and for the gauge...thank you! now I need to get my head under the hood and see if I can find it...LOL
