ahhhh so here goes..i was leaveing my parents house on the way home i hear a rattleing noise from my engine bay..so i pulled into holiday station..checked my oil it seemed ok but i still added some just in case..started car back up and drove it out, the rattling stopped, then as i was driving passed highway 494, i heard the rattling again this time louder and my oil light went on and the rattle got louder and louder..and then i couldnt go more than 55mph, so i pulled over checked oil again and it was fine, so i drove it to a parking lot not to far from where i stopped..called tow truck and had it towed home..got home and now it wont start anymore.

so i removed the vacuum rod..engine turns over but wont start then while cranking all lights dim..also after rod was removed it no longer makes ticking noise when cranking..before it still made noise when trying to crank it.

anyone have any ideas? i didnt get spark from spark plugs..so i cleaned off distributor cap and rotor..still nothing.

Due to the loss of power, loss of oil pressure, and no loss of oil. Sucks.

the rotor is turning? You would still get spark even if the engine was toast. Lack of spark leads me to believe you may have a failing (failed) distributor gear. That rattling is often associated with such an event.

ya only the oil light came on and a sound buzzed when it came on

did you remove the dist. cap and verify rotor spin?
