Default Engine Mounts

Hey, ever since I bought my car (1993 100cs, 100 forum is slow) it has had a vibration at idle, I can feel upshifting and downshifting, a clunk when put in reverse, and shimmying on accel and letting off the gas. I looked at engine while someone put it in reverse and it moved up and down on the front of the engine. My mech said the trans mounts looked good when he did some work on the trans seal. I was thinking it is the engine mounts as they have never been done with 120k on the clock. So do I need just the bushing for the front mount? Do I need to support the engine for the fron mount or can I just unbolt it? I will also do the passenger mount because it is easy to get to. I think I will be lazy and leave the driverside alone as it looks hard to get to. I already loosened the bolt on top of the passenger side out of curriosity. It came loose very easy so I tightened it back up.

Default Re: Engine Mounts

ya just need the bushing and you need to support the engine from the front. should be a prety easy job, I'm not sure for the 100 but in my dad's 5000, I think we unbolted the subframe a bit but I'm not sure if it's essential. good luck and yes, you should change those thing in pairs.
