i am hearing a clicking noise coming from somewhere in the engine when the car is idling. i think it is a belt or pump, and not something like the valves because it only happens like once every half second. it sounds like something isn't meshing right, almost grinding. very disconcerting. any ideas.

Check the oil level and add more if needed. Whats the milage on the car? I assume u have a V6?

yeah v6 about 120000, oil level is fine
