Default I'm going to be making one soon.....

Come down and join in the festivities. As soon as I start getting everything together, I'm ordering the weld-els material and start making the ole' turbo header. I doubt I'm going to jet-hot coat it like that one, but who knows??

Default The best turbo header material is weld-els.

It is super thick 304 stainless steel pipeing used for butt-welding in heavy duty plumbing applications. The stuffs damn near 1/4 inch thick, heavy, but welds nice and is nearly indestructable. The bends are smooth and you can buy it in strait, 45, and 90 degree sections. My whole header should cost under 100.00 in materials. I'm just going to tack weld it and then have someone TIG weld it for me.

Default Not at all. Source your own weld-els, and fabricate yourself....

Weld-els material will run about 100.00. have someone make your flanges. The only big issue is time and a good chop saw to cut your angles. Then at that point it's your choice as to get it jet-hot coated, leave it bare (it is stainless), or just put high temp paint on it.

Default Marty, you interested in making a turbo header or just a header?

If you help me do mine, I'm sure you'll be able to breeze through doing yours. The big issue making mine easier besides only 4 runners is I'm running an inegrated wastegate, like most of the Garretts have. Should be fun though.

Default Turbo definitely

I want to do a 20vt swap, I look every day for cars, motors, and parts plus gather info. It's a money issue at the moment that keeps me from diving in but (I think) I see a 3b in my not so distant future. The manifold would be for that motor. Not sure on EM design yet, I'm a noob there, but I want to learn. I will certainly help if you want to do it some weekend for your car.
