Default excessive oil pressure

My '90 Coupe Quattro seems to want to force oil out of the dipstick and out of the filler cap. I have put in a new filler cap and itstill runs down the side of the engine.... could not find a pcv valve on it.....cleaned the oil pressure relief valve.... still seems to do it. It runs about 5 bars of pressure on the gauge until it warms up......then it runs just under that..... can someone point me to a possible cause or fix, or if they had something similar?

Default Not an oil pressure problem.

you have a crankcase vent issue. The tube is probably plugged.

I had the same thing happen on my CQ and the guys on this board diagnosed it correctly, clogged crankase breather. It is a metal tube that runs from the bottom of the big rubber part that goes from the airbox to the throttle body (advanced terminology)and runs behind the engine and connects on the driver side down near the oilcase. Mine had a clogged copper filter in in (best just to replace the whole pipe) but on older models there is a rubber section connecting the metal tube to the crankase and it deteriorates and collapses (there is a metal replacement for it). I had this exact same problem and cleaning this solved it.

Default This is what you need:

Just sold on Ebay for a few bucks. At the dealer, with all the clamps and hose bits it can run upwards of $60 to 70! See about getting one from Clair Motors (usually cheaper than most dealers), or from www.impexfap.com - call them if you don't have the part number, or from Shokan - check into used.

Should solve the problem!
