Gang,
Got a stripped 17mm transmission allen bolt - how would you get it out?
The fellow at the inspection station attacked it with an air chisel, making matters far worse.
Any ideas on how to extract it?
Transmission wants lube!
Any ideas for tools that would expand and help drive this pig out?

if you can't get at it with a drill, try sawing a slot in the head with a hack saw and use a big flathead screwdriver. if that still doesn't work, try hacking or chisseling the head of the bolt right off at the base. in any case, you got a battle on your hands. it will take some time. BTDT many times...

yeah if you can get a fluted screw extractor (snap-on or others) and it is accessible, try that. I had to the same thing with the 4 little allen bolts holding the main pully on. I was going to attempt the trans myself, so maybe I should get one too...
