I have a '98 Mica blue Cabbie. I've needed to get rid of this car for the last 4 11 months, but wife drove it for a few months, then I just was too lazy/busy to get it sold for the last 4 months or so. Now that its snowing, I want my parking space back.
Car is in OK shape. Needs gas gauge fixed, wide broke driver side fog lense, so that needs replacing, struts need replacing, with bearing, and sway bar links (while your there stuff), and front brakes, and might as well bleed them too.
Those are the issues. Everything else is fine, interior has no rips or broken bits, and I replaced the Delta with a Concert CD player, and replaced the rear window. Tranny is fine, engine is fine, no dents, no rust. never failed to start, never stranded me.
Should I sell as is for $1500obo, or should I fix it up and hope I can move it for more? Didn't get a lot of interest listing it for $2100 on CL in the Philly area. I just don't want to put all that work into it, especially doing it in my driveway in the cold, and still get pennies for it, or have to hold on to it till Spring.
Thoughts anyone?

232,000!! And I keep worrying about if and when my '95 Cab with 98,000 will blow the transmission! Heck, I'm good for another 15 years! What do you guys think who indicate that the weak point is the auto trans in the Cabbie. Just a lucky car?

My fluid Is undoubtably original. I was going to change it when I picked the car up, but black fluid on a 200k car just screams "leave it alone!"
I actually expected the tranny to fail first. The car was an in-between car until I picked up another, or the tranny failed. The 1st 2 or three blocks in the morning take a long time between shifts from 1st to 2nd. I chalked it up to bad fluid and failing servos or valves. The behavior hasn't changed in 3yrs. I assume the engine will fail before the tranny at this point.
No one has chimed in about whether to fix the issues or sell for less.

You'll be lucky to get 1000 dollars.
Bought my 94 cabby for a 1000 dollars with a known bad tranny ,115,000 miles.
Replaced tranny and all is good so far (fingers crossed).
good luck
