Default Found the start problem, thanks for your help

Took a long time to start the car (Audi 80 -95) when cold, aprox 5 sec of cranking. Checked fuel pump, fuel regulator, air sensor and injectors. Then I read one of your posts about checking the fuel filter, I thought that naturally that had been done since it's got all the services done, but, no no, original filter and was that clogged or what! anyhow thanks for your help, the car starts like a dream now.
PS the picture below is the old filter, a bit masacred just too have a look inside, the inside is supposed to be yellowish but was black and had a consistency simular to sludge

Default I've got a fuel filter sitting in my room...I need to get it on my car as soon as it stops raining..

It's rained almost everyday here for the last month.

Nice B4 wagon by the way!
