Freaking Dealers

OK, there's no Audi content here, but get this.
My brother has a Nissan Pulsar SSS. A nice little car, but it had developed a nasty sounding clunk in the front end. It was due for a service so he took it in. A Nissan dealer quoted $650 to fix it. $300 for a control arm and as it was a difficult job, around $350 to fit it.
Bullsh|t, my brother thought, so he he took it to a suspension specialist for a 20 point suspension saftey check for $14. They found that it was all in perfect condition except for a loose anti-sway bar connection at the front left, and a not so loose sway bar connection at the rear right. They tightened them up as part of the $14 check.
So, $14 from a specialist or $650 from the dealer.
As we all know dealers == steelers and it's not just in the Audi world...
