Default FWIW, Blower Motor on last leg, making awful noises, i took it out the other night.....

blew it off real good with my air compressor, LOTS of dust all over the motor and such, wiped it down, and then sprayed some WD-40 down in the blade area where the blade spins on the little joint part, careful not to get it in the electronics as wd-40 can ruin electronics. So i sprayed some carefully down in there.

Re-installed it, and turned on the fan, for about a minute, it made some usual loud noises, then all the sudden it got quiet, sounds like a new motor now. It may still be on its last leg, but i certainly bought some time for it.

Just an idea for anyone who is looking to extend the life of the blower motor a bit longer.

Eh, it's a temporary fix...nothing more.

I did the same to mine 3 years ago and it hasn't peeped since. Maybe "temporary" is okay?

Default Eh, well...I'd just assume replace them with a good (quiet) used one or a new one...

...they're not that expensive.

Default You mean "just as soon"? I can buy a sh*tload of lubricant for the cost of a fan....

and lubing it is a 15-20 minute job. To each his own though.

Default another way is to spray MAF or electronics cleaner into the blower motor.

A lot of black stuff dripped out, and now it spins/ sounds like new. It used to sound like crickets in the dash.
