Default G002000 is no more. What do you know about G004000M2?

Is it the same thing as Pentosin CHF202? How does it differ from G002000/Pentosin CHF11S?

I need to buy a liter. This is the first I've heard of the new stuff. All I've been able to find about it is that it has more anti-foam ingredients. I don't recall any foam problems in my power steering.

Default Febi-Bilstein makes a mineral (conventional) oil that I've been using lately...

Still seems to be widely available. Check with MBZ sites. I get mine for under $10/L from some Mercedes vendor.

Default Mobil 1 ATF has been touted as a superior replacement on some other AW subforums.

I'm thinking of trying it in the CQ - bomb replacement imminent.

Default

I'll go with Febi. Mineral oil is stated in the specs and Mineral oil it will be.

Default Why not stick with Pentosin 7.1 then?

G002000 has not been mineral based for years - not since it was switched from Pentosin 7.1 to Pentosin 11s. Audi's current recommendation for our cars is the new G004000M2 - synthetic as well, not mineral based.

I don't bother following 30 year old specs that Audi themselves have changed since. For me, it will either be the new VAG juice (although I want to know what's new about it) or something available locally for much cheaper - like M1 ATF, which is available for $5 a liter where I buy my groceries. Mineral or synthetic, I'll not seek out an alternative that is harder to source than what Audi currently recommends - just my 2 cents.

Default I'd say 11s.

Mostly because it's supposed to mix with everything previous, and will not damage seals.

VAG juice? [snicker]
