This is only the 5th or so tank I have filled on the car ('90 CQ), so my history is relatively short... Anyway, slight smell of gas in the car when I first get in.
Are there any typical failures with the carbon canister or tank breather that would leak to the interior?
Thanks tons,
Brad

nipple on the top of the canister. I was really hard to see because the line stayed in place. It stunk like gas inside all the time.
Unfortunatly, the fuel lines (supply, return and vent) are known problem areas as they rust out pretty badly once the coating gets nicked. Most people cut the line at the leak and slip on gas hose and clamps.
Make sure to look under the battery as the acid has been known to eat the lines there as well.

and corroded.
The symptoms you explain are exactly what happened to me. I smelt gas inside the car for a couple months, as it progressively got stronger. I checked the top of the fuel pump and the cap was totally full of gas. Ended up being that with the washers were half dissolved and not sealing the high-pressure Feed line.
