Searched the forum and could not get a definitive answer. I've got some of that foamy yellow stuff in the passenger side breather hose from the back of the head to the noise damper. No crud in the noise damper or on the back of the oil filler cap. What is the cause of this? '95 Cab AAH. I pulled this off to get room to replace the pass side tie rod.

do not worry about it too much. That could be 10 years of build up.
If I were you I would replace those stock hoses anyway.
you can cut off the ends and they are barbed, slip em into some hose form your local auto parts store and you are good to go.
Keep the lengths of hose as SHORT AS POSSIBLE. this way you will have a downgrade back into the Valve Covers, and when you shut down the car anything in there will drip back into the valve cover and not pool.
I wish I had 5 bucks for every time I have posted this pic.

I'll try to remember to get pics this weekend while I'm working on the car.
The car I got only had straight ends, so instead of making two big loops of hose to make them bend without kinking, I chopped a couple of 3/4" 90 degree barbed fittings to make everything nice and neat.
