Continuing off of Estonian's post i have proceeded to research on a slight trimming of the H&R springs to get that extra drop. In the picture the blue is circling the top or bottom of the spring where it coils off to make a level platform for the spring to seat. if I were to cut my spring as shown in the picture, it will not have a flat platform to seat on. Will this still work? How do I proceed on getting a flat seating surface after cutting the springs? Does it matter what end i cut? Or equally cut both? School me guru's.

but I see a couple of things wrong with your picture. 1st, I would think that you would want to cut the spring so that the "new" end would be at the same spot as the "old" end when viewed from the top, basically, 180 degrees from where you have it marked. 2nd, judging by the wear marks on your springs, it looks like the top 2 coils are "dead", Meaning they touch when the suspension is loaded. If this is so, then to get a 1.5" drop you will have to cut off more than the top coil.
As far as "making it flat"...I've never cut springs, but I would imagine that you would want to use some sort of urethane/rubber to isolate the spring from the mount, and possibly some sort of "u" bolt to maintain the proper orientation of the spring and so it doesn't rattle around.
Again...I'm certainly not an expert, just my $.02.

Thats what i plan on doing now is cutting inline with original cut-off just cutting off the top dead coil which will still be at least an extra inch of drop and retain a semi flat seat. Anyone else wanna chime in.

But cutting off 1.5 inches doesn't mean that it will drop your car 1.5 inches. the spring could give more or less than the desired drop based off the spring rate...

Oh i understand that i just used 1.5 as a hypothetical situation. plus that would drop it way too much. i have about 1.75 in of wheel gap right now and h&r's are supposed to lower at least .5in so 2in i would be tucking tire.. thats a no no.

Why not sell the H&Rs and cut some stock springs? You'll make money on it and still have the look you want. Besides, in case you make a mistake, you're not ruining a good set of springs.

Thats a good idea, i was just curious on how one would go about cutting a spring to make it work. im probably just going to install the h&r's with koni adjustables and mances mounts to get all the drop outta her.

If you cut the top of the spring for the front springs, then the mount will NOT sit properly. You HAVE to cut the bottom of the spring for the fronts as that is where the coil compresses to.
For the rears, you will cut the top of the spring as that is where the dead coils are.
Also, you will NOT get the same ride cutting stock springs vs. H&Rs. H&Rs are a stiffer spring so cutting a dead coil or two won't make it a ridiculusly bouncy ride. Also, when cutting you want to keep the whole spring COLD so the heat doesn't effect the spring rate as much. Soak a bunch of rags in ice water and wrap the spring with them. Or if you have an air compressor, that'll work too.
I'll be doing this in a couple weeks and I'll make a writeup as well.

...You may want to consider also that Mount-Savers are available in 4(?)different effective heights (IIRC), which may allow you to approach your target by changing either those alone, or in combination w/some cutting.
