Default H&R Springs + Bilsteins. How low will cutting 1 dead coil...

...on the front springs get me? I'm looking for an extra 0.5"-0.75" so my car has a bit of rake. Has anyone done this and compared before and after shots, after cutting 1 dead coil? Thanks.

Default Can't do it. Plus it's not good as your shocks will be bottoming out non-stop. In addition,

that rake is bad for your handling. Most importantly, it looks as stupid as it gets, unless you have a pro-dragster.

Default Seeing that my rear will be lower than my front..

I'm going to do it, but I just would like to know how much I need to cut, without having to take everything apart and re-cut (and re-heating the spring) again.

I'm not talking drag car rake here, but like 0.25"-0.5" lower in the front. I know the side effects but I don't drive my cars hard so I'm fine with it.

Too much rice in that diet... Leave that stuff to the Civics.

Default You cannot cut the spring because your lowest or most upper ring is designed to

seat properly on your upper or lower spring perch. As I said, can't do it.

Why do you assume you rear will be lower? If both springs are installed properly your car will sit even.

H&R's are notorious for the rears being higher than fronts, search forums.

Mechanics/Tuners were cutting springs before Civics were invented, nobody died.

Default The lowest perch is designed to take the outer coils of the spring...

...so yes you can cut the spring. It just won't sit in the designed perch, or as I will be doing, I'll make my own so it sits nicely and can't rattle off accidently.

And people can flame me for cutting springs but I am cutting an aftermarket lowering spring that's DESIGNED to go lower, as well as my sport struts that are DESIGNED to go lower. If I had the options of coilovers for my B4, they'd be on the car, but I don't so I have to play around to get my desired ride height. I can see it's useless here to ask if anyone has cut a dead coil on the front with before and after pictures. And yes, I did search and could not find a before and after cutting picture.
