Default Personally I wouldn't do it. They're for quick release racing hoods.

I think it would take away from the appearance of your ride.

You did ask for opinions.

Default Wouldn't do it on a stock hood, but if your big into weight reduction...

It's not a bad option... I have just standard sparco hood pins on my Civic (fiberglass hood painted to match) I would personally prefer an option like this allows you to lock seems more secure... but like i said, no need on a stock hood... no purpose

Default 'Cept that they weigh well over 5x the stock hood latch hardware per pair

with installation hardware and when ordered with keyed locks and over 3 times heavier without locks. They are heavy duty but they are NOT light as that compares to standard vintage Audi hood latch hardware which comes in at sub 3 ozs all-told. Simple pin/disc setups are lighter than stock or Aerocatch. It's a great product but it is NOT "light" and it's a difficult, if not impossible installation at anywhere near stock latch pin locations when retaining stock OEM steel or Fiber Images CF hoods due to the double skin reinforcing layers EXACTLY where you'd want to install them. Cut or ompromise those reinforced areas and structural integrity of the hood is toast! Given those obstacles you're talking additional fabrication building "stand-off" latch points to move them back of hood leading edge and inboard away from fenders and lateral-edged hood double-walls. Now the weight is even higher and you're likely gonna have to move some other things under the hood around least on a daily driver/street car with all the under-hood compliment of OEM accessories.

Aerocatch specifications

Default

I've eyed them as an alternative for the hood pins that came on my new 4ktq.

Default Thanks Mance.....

...are you sure about the location with the CF hood? Mine is on the way and I was considering these latches. I don't care about the weight, seemed easier than getting a B4 rad support.

Default Thanks, I see what you mean.

I might order a set anyway and see what I can think of when I have the hood and catches in my hands. Did you buy new seals?
