sounds just like a blown globe...I'm guessing the bulbs you put in were double filament? Well, they do blow separately, but as far as only being 5 months old, i'm guessing it was a dodgy globe to begin with...try for a refund!

Default Burnt filiment inside bulb? Swap bulbs, see what happens?

If the problem follows, probably a burnt filiment?

If you look closely at the bulb, you'll see 2 filiments inside. One's for the lowbeams, other for the high.

Requires new bulb to fix.

my just blew too, also charred my connectors, i think the 80w=120w is too much. this is about 6 months.

Could be the filament OR could have "cooked" the harness. Pull the bulb to see which one!!
