headlights / fan
My wife was driving the car (93 90s) when she noticed that the headlights were not on.The switch was on but the headlights were not. Dash lights were working but The heater fan wasn't. She brought it home and took our van but then when she came back and tried the car the headlights were working. This happened again yesterday but the lights came back on .
If the fan wasn't working does that eliminate the switch on the column?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

2nd, next time it happens shut it off and restart to see if lights works.
My wife's 95 A6 does that once in a while. Been too lazy to fix it. She starts the car and checks to make sure her directionals work before she drives away. If not, shutting it of and restarting usually does the trick. It seems that the ignition switch doesn't always return after starting.

I have the same problem on my 95 90Q. After I start the car and find my....
lights/heater aren't working I wiggling the key back and forth. I usually hear a click, like a contact in the ignition is made.
