I must replace the heater core in my 1990 Audi 80 4 cyl. Is the only way to remove the dashboard? Air conditioning is a thing of the past so can be bypassed. Can it be removed through the glove compartment?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Is your 80 similar to a 93 90? If it is than the complete dash does not have to be removed. If you have no as then remove the ac hoses from the fire wall first. Second remove the hoses to the heater core. On the fire wall look for two screws on the fire wall, they should have nuts on them. They should be near the center of the fire wall about 4-6 inches apart. After removing the nuts you need to start working inside the vehicle. Remove the glove box. Disconect all electricles to the a/c, heater box. Now reach behind the blower motor and start jiggling the box. it should come out with a little work. I almost forgot. Under the hood on the passenger side you will need to remove the screws that hold the cabin air intake duct. If you need further assistance let me know. Trust me I learned this lesson the hard way. (by taking the complete dash out of my car). Talk about time consuming.
