Default help...

ok, my friend has a 98' integra, i guess last nite she was comin back to school following one of our other friends goin like 95 on curvy roads. i guess she had to slam on the brakes like 2 times durring corners and now her brakes are making a wierd noise. i havn't looked at it yet im on my way to go over there shortly. she said she got new pads about 10 months ago. im just curious as to what you guys think this might be, im not sure if it would be that she warped her rotors, finished off her pads, or if its brake fluid related. i'll drive it then tell post again on how it acted when i drove it. any oppinions would be greatly thanked

Default well yah that was the obvious reason for somting going wrong...

i took it for a drive, and it was not that bad, i think she finished off her pads, and most of the problems were because of how hot the brakes were. its all good im sure all she needs is new pads

Default probably this...

1 out of 10 times garages will put in too-thick pads into cars, just because they seem to fit, this, or the brake fluid that is in it is too low of a grade and it boiled. either way, i'd say the brakes bound slightly and overheated. when you have them apart, check for heat discoloration on the edges of the rotor, check the caliper piston seals and bleed the brakes, collect a sample of the used brake fluid and let it sit in a clear jar for about 3 hours, if you see anything separate out of it, or if it is the slightest bit brown, it has boiled and needs to be flushed. flushing it is a pain, but a garage can do it in about 20 minutes.
