can you guys tell me how much i should expect to pay for parts and labor to replace at cat in a 95 90q?
Should I get a new cat or used?
I am looking to buying one but he told me the cat would need to be changed...also could this be a sign of engine problems?
Thanks in advance

You'd have to look into your state emissions laws though just to be safe. I bought my single cat (Vibrant $86.00) based on the engine size it could handle(289cu.). The 2.8 is 171cu. I believe so hopefully when I go through emissions in Jan. I will pass without hassle.
Like Luxus said OEM is $$$. If you do a search you will find some good posts on the different aftermarket cat configurations folks have used. No matter what it will be cheaper than stock replacements. I like my set up alot now (2" downtubes, 1.5" balance pipe, 2.5" into single cat, etc.), noticible power increase. I had been running the TAP1 high flow dual cats (1.75" DT's), however they were leaking and one seemed to be falling apart inside, never again. They didn't last nearly as long as stock and were not cheap. In addition they come with the downtubes welded on. When we took them off we found the tubing around the 3-bolt flange was different sizes by about 1/2" so there was a little gap to the sides and tubing was obstructing the manifold to DT openings. Anyway I hope this helps in some way, good luck.
